Koup — budget and subscription tracking.

This policy describes how Koup (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our iOS app.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Account & authentication. If you sign in, we process identifiers needed to keep you logged in (for example via email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google). Our authentication provider may receive your email and basic profile details according to that sign-in method.
- Budget & app content you enter. Expenses, subscriptions, categories, notes, budget settings, and related fields you save in the app.
- Optional location-related settings. If you choose to save a home or location name and coordinates for features in the app, that information is stored with your account data.
- Preferences & device state. Settings such as appearance, onboarding completion, optional iCloud sync toggle, and similar values stored on your device (for example via system storage APIs).
- Optional iCloud (CloudKit). If you enable iCloud sync, Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit may process your app data under Apple’s terms to sync across your devices.
3. How we use information
- Provide core app features: storing, displaying, and syncing your budget data.
- Maintain your account and secure access.
- Improve reliability and fix issues (including aggregated or de-identified diagnostics where used).
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Where data is stored & third parties
We use Supabase (hosted database and authentication services) to store and sync account-linked data you choose to sync. Supabase processes data according to their policies as our infrastructure provider.
Sign-in with Apple or Google is subject to those providers’ privacy policies for the data they handle during sign-in.
If you use iCloud sync, data is handled under Apple’s iCloud terms.
5. Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You may delete data from within the app where supported, or request account/data deletion by contacting us. Some records may be retained for a limited period where required by law or for legitimate security and backup practices.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices appropriate to the service (such as encrypted transport and access controls on our backend). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at the email above to make a request. You may also adjust some data directly in the app or in your Apple ID / Google account settings for sign-in-related data held by those providers.
8. Children
Koup is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or legal mechanisms for such transfers.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
